Default intermitant no start, has fuel and spark. at a loss

Did alittle searching before posting this and not finding anything that is simulair so here it is..

Car
98 civic LX
Auto
nonvtack
completly stock minus remote start/door locks and head unit
timing belt done around 130k miles on the car is now 211 coming up but tbelt is NOT BROKE

what ive replaced/done
new OEM distibuter directly threw honda
New plugs
new fuel filter
MIL is on but for a coolant temp sensor(never affected issue before)
new 02 primairy and secondary
fuel pressure is good along with compression

Ok, now the issure.

Simple as car will not start after its been ran. the original start up with start fine and wife can go to work. and vise versa when shes leaving work ( around a 30 min trip one way). how ever if you try to start up the car say 5 mins after you stop and shut off the car the car will hessitate and then not start or not start all together. right now im at a complete loss and have done everything i can think of. Main realy clicks and you can hear fuel pump prime. this is my last point before i start bustin out the dmm and start probing relays and silonoids. **** is aggravating to beyond f***

Check the area at the ECU, and the ECU, for moisture.

but if that would be a cause why would it only do it after the car has started and ran. i would think thats a constant issue if it was muisture? maybe im wrong tho

i have thought of possible sensor in the ecu getting hot and causing this issue. but dont know if the obd2 nonvtec ecus have that tep sensor in the actual ecu or not

Sorry. I thought you wrote "rain". ECT possibly?
Maybe look this over and give it a stab.

even if the main relay click and runs it still might not funtion possibly? when its doing it bs you hear fuel pump prime and the relay click like its working properly. then it just cranks and cranks and cranks. some times it will start 20 mins after this but like today i sat at mcd's for 2 hours...

that i dont know possibly. i do the fuel cut trick where you hold the pedal down. then the next crank go half throttle etc.

im gonna see if it will start now and take it up to advanced to use the scanner. talking to a buddy/tuner from back in ohio and hes telling me that the ect could actually cause it but the sensor it self might not be completly bad in a sence. some time acts properly then other time the fault comes out in it ie high voltage.

So went n put a ect on it cause housing was cracked. The sensor peice that inside of the head was black. Went to autozone and scanned it and it also had a code for an iat. Replaced that too. Hopefully this will solve the issue?

sounds intermittent... which usually points to something electrical... which, with hondas, usually points to the main relay. pull the main relay completely out, disassemble it, and check the back of the circuit board for bad solder joints. bet you'll find at least one with the "ring of death"

Not sure but you definitely should fix both and see. You said new OEM dizzy, did it come with igniter (ICM) and coil as well?

Its a no start, not a no crank. If it cranks its not the starter.

That's what I was thinking as well if you did get a new ICM.

Deffently aint the starter. Ill give it a couple days and see if that ect was the issue. If not ill check the main relay.

The dizzy was complete from oem. The perks of working at a dealership lol. So i dont think its the icm or the coil.
