Interior Specifics
I recently bought a 1996 Honda civic ex sedan with type P taupe interior. I am new to Honda's but found I like working on them. The whole car was in pretty rough shape however restoring it has been keeping me occupied. I want to restore to stock at least as close as I can. My question is, with the type P taupe interior what is the actual stock carpet and headliner color. Ive looked online at replacement carpet and it seems there are so many colors that its hard to decipher. Last two things what are the best size tires for gas mileage (current tires 175/65/R14) and besides ebay and Honda dealers, does anyone know a good reasonable place to buy new/old stock oem parts? thanks in advance.

Re: Interior Specifics
Taupe should be all-taupe, headliner and carpet included. There were only three interior color options in 96 - TYPE F is "Excel Charcoal" (light gray), TYPE K is "Classy Gray" (dark gray), and TYPE P, "Medium Taupe" (tan).
For gas mileage, the skinnier the better. Personally, I wouldn't trust anything thinner than a 175, so you're basically already there. Driving habits and vehicle maintenance (especially the ignition and fuel systems) will make a much bigger difference in gas mileage than tire size will, though.
As for parts...
New parts: http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com
Use that website to find the part numbers, then toss the part numbers in Google to find better deals.
Old parts: http://www.angrypandaparts.com/

Angry Panda is a GREAT junkyard that specializes in Honda and Acura. Car-part.com is a database of all participating junkyards, and can be used to find cheap used parts.

Re: Interior Specifics
Also, what are the dimensions for a 96 accord sunroof and a 96 civic sunroof. Mine works fine for my civic but the interior sliding cover is shot. I found a 96 accord at pull apart that was in good shape but both mine and the accord sunroof/moonroof sliding covers are still mounted and I don't wanna pull off both sunroofs to find it was all for none.
