interior gauge cluster/climate control/buttons lights are dim

interior gauge cluster/climate control/buttons lights are dim
the interior lights are very dim. I tried adjusting the dimmer to the brightest but still dim compared to my other civic. any ideas?

are your headlights dim also?
is your other civic the same gen? the dash lights did get a little brighter on newer civics due to better optical lay out of the cluster. But it's not a lot.
pics would help a lot.

i just ran into the same prob.. i got an 00 coupe, i put in an alpine head unit today, and now my heat switche lights are dim.. the gauge cluster still has the same brightness though.. only the heat switch dimmed . any ideas on what this could be ?
