Default Integra dash into civic - my experience and questions

Hello-

A while ago I participated in the big FAQ discussion regarding teg dashes into civics:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1211255

I finally got some time to try mine out, and ran into the inevitable problems. I was curious as to how everyone solved them and if they had any advice for me.

I used:
Civic dash mounts
Teg heater core
Trimmed behind the gauge cluster
Styrofoam under center console

I was able to secure the passenger side using a bolt, and zip tied the bottom of the passenger side. I drilled the center lower mount, and used a bolt there. I used another zip tie on the driver side mount. I am hoping to use the upper center mount - any advice?

Here are the pictures:

THIS is why I did the swap... so I could mount some gauges near the bezel and NOT on the pillar

My dash sits a little high... here is the mirror adjustment on the driver side:

Here is the gap I found between the dash vents and the heater core:

And finally, here is a gap on the passenger side:

I can provide better pictures tomorrow in the daytime. Any advice for getting it to sit lower?

Thanks!!!

Seb

Hate to burst your bubble, but you know you can put gauges near the bezel of a 96-00 civic dash, right?

Pretty sure that is a 92-95 civic, and not a 96-00, at least judging by the mirrors.

Nicely done, but please don't tell me you did the dash swap for the sole purpose of mounting more guages.

Before I did that I'd mount them where the factory radio goes, or drill holes into my civic dash. Or get creative.

Sole purpose, no. Motivating factor though. I got the dash for free, as well as all of the components.

Im beginning to troubleshoot the wiring - any tips from anyone, like a well known forgotten ground or solution to a fuse blowing or anything?

Anymore ideas on how the height looks?

Hey what did you do about the door panels? I had to cut my civic panels so the door would close. What did you do?
