i just took my HYBRID jdm/usdm cluster out of my eg hatch. (selling it so i can use my spoon eg6 cluster) basically you want to picture being able to put the gauge cluster face down flat. i didnt measure mine i just cut the top part so it was even with the bottom part of the bezel and that i could put it flat face down on a table... i ended up using the eg clear cover and just make another hole for the integra trip meter. sorry no photos of the gauge in the car. but it fit fine, and i didnt screw the cluster down, the dash bezel holds it tight with no problem so no cutting of anything on the gauge other than the bezel.
hope this helps somewhat on the cutting part.
