Integra type-R brakes on an Civic EG5
 

I have an EG5 and I'd like to put all the breaking parts and wheels of an DC2 type R.

Question: Can I keep my D16 and keep the EG5 axles and put the 5 holes conversion? Or do I have to get b16 or b18 axles?

you will need the front knuckle from the type r, as well as the rear trailing arm.
you can use your existing axles, it is impossible to use a b-series axle on a d-series tranny.

but if i may give a suggestion, your better off getting a integra brake set up. they are easier to find, run hundreds of dollars cheaper than the itr, and you can use your current rims.

not to mention, it draws less attention.

Hmm, as long as the conversion is not from a 98 spec JDM ITR, you will be fine using the stock d-series axles.

Any 5-lug from an EDM ITR will work without any problems.

Ok perfect! I'm from Switzerland and my 5-lug conversion is from an EDM ITR.

I was really worried because some people told me the axles were smaller a the end (wheel side) on the EG5 and probably would not fit with the ITR conversion.

I really hope this will work out!

okay guys thanks for the tips, the brakes and wheels and etc are on the car now!

Maybe you have a clue of what I should do for the next problem I have--&gt;

A guy I know has the same problem and same setup almost exept he has a b18 turbo.

From what I heard the brake fluids are managed by the ECU on the integra and my problem is that I don't know what parts I must change in order to have a proper braking system. As I have a D16 I don't think it's ECU will be able to manage braking fluids pressures and etc..

I was planning on buying a ITR braking master cylinder and a mastervac + eventually the ABS central.. but will it fit with the d16?

the brake fluids are managed by the ecu?

there is a seperate ABS unit, if that's what you mean.

and if you didn't change your porportioner, that may be part of your issue.

and what exactly do you mean by "emergency braking" do you mean pulling the emergency brake?

yes and I didn't take that separate unit as it's linked to the ecu.. I didn't change the proportioner either but I'm really not sure this will solve the problem (if I put the ITR proportioner).

Actually the back slides on the right either when I pull the e-brake or when I push hard on the brakes and block the wheels.

yes, you don't need a porportioner from the type r, that will only work on abs equipped cars.

you need one from a non abs integra, and yes it will solve your braking issue.

ok I found some new stuff tonight, the height of my car was not correct so I've tried to correct it a bit and now the back is going or left or right.. depending on the road.

thank you for the tip so the solution would be a normal integra braking proportioner.

I found out the FAQ on the ITR brake swap on the Civic 96-00 but nothing on the particular problem I'm having with the rear braking power...

car is still not braking properly, is there a way of tuning the brake repartitor? I heard there is but I don't know exactly where this is.

[Ok solved the problem by changing the rear brake pads to less abrasive pads!]
