Default Intake System Help

I have a d16z6 with dc sports headers, skunk2 test pipe, and skunk2 mega power exhaust system. I am now looking to swap out my sh*tty no-name intake piping and filter with a name brand intake system. Can someone please make any suggestion on a manufacturer that offers a sturdy system with decent HP gains? I would like to stay away from complete cold air systems. Any help is appreciated. Thanks -Joe

None. Keep your no-name pipe and get a velocity stack for it.

^^that. maybe a better filter at best.

vibrant vstack and a 6in filter. as long as your current no name is 3'.
sri is better anyways.

^ Password JDM isn't even worth the price. Just find a USED AEM V2.

don't say vibrant ever again. swap out the D series. plain and simple. more power = not having a D series. and yes password JDM is worth the price. i say password JDM, or J's racing. AEM looks not right.

why is it that whenever someone asks a question about a D-series, someone always has to chime in with "D's don't make power. just swap the motor."

This guy is looking for an intake, not a new motor. Go ahead and spend 300 on an ugly PWJDM intake.

SAYS 4hp gain. will not be 4hp.
why never say vibrant? it'll outperform 95% of PJDM. and it's decently priced. none of their stuff i've gotten off them has broken, rusted, scratched, chipped, anything.
clearly you have no idea what your talking about either. the AEM v2 is one of the only CAI's that make power.
password is overpriced and mostly for visual effect IMO.

oh that whale *****? garbage. go ahead buy em both. dyno both. and tell me how bad it is. (p.s. i already know, seen it here)

also my guess would be they own a d series too and don't like it.

Velocity stack, PWJDM is very overpriced, bottom line, it is just piping and a filter, keep with a 3" tube and decent cone and it's honestly all the same. Why spend money that can be used elsewhere for more hp for an extremely minimal gain? Unless you're looking for aesthetics only...

And your point? $200 is still too much money to spend on a piece that won't really do anything but sit there and look pretty.

this guy is a genious. I have a home made intake from intercooler piping and a cone filter at the end. why spend money on an intake that has a company sticker on it when u can keep ur current setup but maybe get a new filter and it will work the same.

any open air filter should be good, the most gains you get will be from headers, exhaust, and testpipe, unless you boost it. the filter wont gain too much over the stock box

Who cares? $200 or $300. All money wasted. You're nit-picking on a detail. No one's trying to buy one and if they were going to they would find out how much they cost anyway. So harping about this detail is ultimately irrelevant.

Putting a lil too much thought into this IMO. What i said was a fact, not saying go get one. I am all about being accurate, not an exaggerator. But if you support that thats cool. I dont really need to whine about the issue. And yes I agree they are too much money. I have a homemade 3in that I dont see upgrading anytime soon.

browse the all motor forum for 10minutes and you'll see quickly they almost all use 3" intake piping with velocity stacks.

Have a shop make you a 3" aluminum pipe that fits in your engine bay.

Put the stock intake box back in
I just restore factory intake box system in my EM1
I like it a lot how it's all quiet and better mpg
Whenever I miss the sound of Vtec
I just take off the Intake box lid on my s2k CR and redline it at 8k hee
