intake question
i have a dc sports shorty intake and i was wondering if i needed that little bracket on the side that attaches right below the filter. i guess it gives support, but i took it off because it didnt quite fit right. it is supposed to be attached under the hose clamp that holds the filter on, but it is about an eight of an inch too short, so it just kept knocking the filter off (i was pretty pissed when i got home two days in a row and my filter was off). my dad said that if i left it with the bracket it would eventually just vibrate off of the intake manifold and then i would be "completely fucked". can anybody help me out with this one? im planning to go turbo within the next 2-3 months so should i even worry about it? ive been running without this bracket for about 2 weeks and everything seems fine

Anyway, for a cleaner install, I would think it best to use the bracket. Try and find a place to bolt the bracket where it would actually provide support for the intake- bending the bracket if necessary.
And if not, and you just let your intake rest on the engine bay, don't worry about it. You won't be "completely fucked" even if it came off. It would only be as bad as running open TB- which isn't great, but you wouldn't be "completely fucked."
