Intake Problem....

I bought a Aerospeed short ram intake for my 1997 Del Sol Si. I pulled out the stock piping and there was a senor that was brown in color and about half an inch long. I pulled that out and put the aerospeed intake in and it didnt fit. I read the content of the box and they sent me an intake for a 97 prelude. I put it back in the box and put the stock intake back on, and plugging the sensor back in. I started my car up and I now get a check engine light thats on all the time. I dont know what kind of sensor it is my guess would be an air sensor for the air/fuel mixture, but my del sol manual said the light is a electronic malfuntion, something related to emissions. How do I fix this so the light come off and If I got the another intake and they send me the right one If I got it professionally installed would they be able to fix it? Thanks in advance!

Search the archives for how to check a CEL. What you have right now is a CEL or Check Engine Light.

As far as getting an intake "professionally installed" I would never pay someone to do a job that easy. Just remove and replace what you have.

just unplug the positive terminal of your battery for about 5 minutes, this is very common on hondas when you're installing air intakes but the sensor will be ok, if the light commes back on you have to buy a new one, because you screw it, but not a big deal.
