Re: intake manifold. (MugenManR)
do you mean you want to put a y8 intake manifold on your y7 motor/head? if so it will work, i have done it just to make the engine look beter and so i could use a EX intake system, just make sure you get a y8 manifold from an auto other wise you have to make a block off plate for the IACV on the back of the manifold, its pretty much plug and play, just double and triple chech that you have all the coolant and vac lines hooked up right, also while you have the manifold off you might want to replace the PCV valve there too, other wise is a bitch to get at.
I did notice a slight improvement in performance up on the top end, almost like it has vtec, but that could have been from the intake too, maybe 1-2 hp at most, but enough to notice it on the butt dyno

nope, if you have a d16y7, it's easier to use and auto
both d167 and the auto y8 im use a 3-wire iacv
the manual y8 uses a 2-wire iacv.
you can still use a manual, you just have to take off the iacv from the im manifold and block it, then use your y7 throttle body but you have to put on the y8 tb rotor

Re: (Malakai)
not if you are swaping a y8 IM in place of the y7 becuase the y7 has the IACV on the throttle body as does the auto y8, but the y8 manual has it on the IM. so you have to keep your y7 throttle body becuase its a 3 wire IACV and the manual is a 2 wire, so you cant use the y8 throttle body either, just get a bare boned y8 auto intake manifold and the throttle rotor from the y8, everything else just swap it over, you might need to extend some of the wires like the map sensor wire, other wise its pretty simple.
i did it to mine about 6 months ago, so if you have any questions get post up of get a hold of me on AIM, but there are other people that are much more knowledgale about this than me, but i knew what i was doing and it started up just perfectly, so i guess i got lucky!
