Intake on D15z1
OK i'm planning on putting on a J's Racing style intake on my z1 just for the time being untill my swap. But i've heard that all aftermarket intakes are made to fit a 2"diameter throttle body and the z1's is only 1.5"????I haven't done any mesuring because i thought that the throttle body just had a smaller bore not overall size.
So my question is, will I have to make modifications to make an aftermarket intake fit on a D15z1? And if so, how did you get around this?
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: Intake on D15z1 (BauleyCivic)
yeah i was thinking that, but i was just wondering if this is true or just a rumor.
I know some one on here has to have some first hand experience with this!

or just wait till you swap. like an intake is gonna do anything for a 92 hp motor

Which puts like high 50s to the wheels with that glorious tranny et.all.
I wouldn't bother doing the intake, but you will find the tb is absurdly small. You'll definitly need an adapter of some form.

Re: (splitime)
I have a fake J's intake on my VX and yes you have to buy a new clamp for it to work. the clamp that came with the intake couldn't tighten enough to get on the TB. and the stock clamp that hold the stock intake pipe to the TB wasn't big enough to fit around the intakes ruber cupling. I used a clamp that came with an iceman intake that I had on my accord. I don't know what size it is but it worked.
I didn't notice any gains from the intake I think the stock intake was giving the little 48mm TB enough air and the j's was just over kill. it's just loud as hell now. save your money and get the intake after your swap. or buy an ex header I put that on my VX and it felt like a new car.

I would save your time and money until you get the swap. You'll hardly notice anything but a louder sound like someone said on the d15z1 motors. I have an HKS intake waiting on the shelf until I swap in my b16.
