Insurance Question
Just wondering...if you have a car with stuff done to the exterior..like a body kit, exhaust, rims etc...and you get in an accident and try to claim it under your insurance company, will they replace your aftermarket parts, or just put stock parts back on it?? I've heard from different people that if I smash up my body kit, the insurance company won't cover it. Should I get an appraisel done to give the insurance company? I'm just worried that I'm gonna spend like 20,000 CAD on performance upgrades on my car, and then I write it off and the insurance company only gives me like 10,000 CAD for my car??? Hopefully this question isn't too confusing.....

Re: (DaWorm)
It does depend on your policy. There's usually an option on your policy that you can upgrades. That'll cover you if your insurance covers repairs - so long as you keep receipts.
If it's the other guy's insurance, you'll probably get bent over. You'll probalby hear something like "OEM replacement" in cases like that. And with your own insurance if you don't have the right coverage.
I wouldn't bother with a body kit, though, if it's a daily driver. Too many variables that would kill the kit.
