Way to do it with no spring compressor:
Put the stock shock on the ground on its side. Get a small rug or peice of carpet and cover it. Have someone step on both sides of the rug tightening the rug down. Undo the top bolt with allen wrench and socket. When the nut comes off, the rug will hold down 5/6 of the force of the spring, so the nut will scoot like 2 inches away. Kind of scary anticipating the nut coming off, but after you do it once you'll realize it's nothing.
