installing a short shifter...

i'm a totally noob when it comes to my car....

i just started working on my 96 cvic ex and i want to install a short shifter on it... i've heard that i might have to remove the exhuast... is installing a short shifter a hard job for a noob like myself or should i have someone help me that knows what they are doing... thanx...

If you have the proper tools its not that difficult. Pretty straight foward. Unbolting the exhaust makes it a lot easier. Check the FAQs up there i think there is a "short shifter install" thread

I helped my friend on his 93 cx hatch nd we left the exhaust on(stock) it wasn't that hard. Unbolting the exhaust will give you a lot more space though.

You dont hav to unbolt the exhaust on the EG's but you have to on the EK's me and my friend could not get the shift linkage off because the exhaust was in the way.
