Default Installing a ITR MC, booster and proportioning valve....cant loosen brake lines!!!

Hey guy im doin a full itr brake swap. I can loosen the brass bolts on the hard lines to my stock proportioning valve. Just wants to round them off!!! any idea on how to do it. Iv already soked the hell outta them in wd-40 and ever bought a brake line wrench. Still cant loosen them little guys. If i have to cut them does someone offer braided lines to replace with or even hard lines???

you're supposed to use a flare nut wrench

but now in your case, gotta use vice grips or something

if the lines are broken off you can use a 10 mil multi-point long socket. always worked great for me. if the lines are intact the 10 mil wrench does not work that good, just a little too big. if the lines are even kinda snug u will round the hell outta em. you need a wrench made specifically for the brake lines nuts. prolly get it at kragen or autozone. If your rounded them too much you will need some vice grips.

Yeah i bought one of those wrenches...still wont loosen up just whats to round the hell outta them....Them bastards are on tight! any other way?

I can loosen the brass bolts on the hard lines to my stock proportioning valve. Just wants to round them off!!!

i guess that's supposed to be can't?

weren't type r's abs?
i hope you have an abs equipped civic
if it's not then forgive my ignorance.

and if you want to replace the lines you will have to replace the entire line, and seeing you f'd up removing the bolts at the proportioner, i doubt that is a task you'd be up to.

if you have enough room you can buy new nuts and you may have enough play to re-do your lines.

Yeah..it does "just want to round them off". reason why i said that is cuz iv stoped before i started to round them off. From what i was told they did have abs? i have a 98 spec itr mc and booster and proportioning valve and of course the big 4 lug conversion.

use vice grips carefully to break them loose..

when you take it off i believe with the right tools you can reflare the end of the line and put a new bolt on... then use anti sieze when you put it back together so it will not happen again.

oh and another thing....i got the itr proportioning valve with the mc and booster, but its stamped 30/40......anyone have an idea??

if it is an integra prop, youre fine

You did make sure that its the original size fitting, right? M10 not M12

one of the brake line fittings on the MC is bigger than the other. you'll need a new brake line for that. anyone know the part #?

The ITR mc and booster will work fine on your eg, i have one on mine and the brakes are amazing. As for your prop valve; a 30/40 prop valve if you did not already know is for a front disk and rear drum set up which is what comes stock on your eg stock unless it is an SI in which case it would be a 40/40 prop valve. Who ever sold you the prop valve ripped you off but its cool, unless you are planning on tracking this car and putting the brakes to their full use than you do not need to worry about replacing it. Also on my mc the fittings were the same size all that was required was repositioning of the brake line. pick up the cheapest hard line bender at Autozone you can find; trust me this is very important, if you were to crimp the hard line it would have to be completely replaced, something you really don't want to have to do.

Spray on some PB Blast, let it sit, try what you were doing earlier. Should be done in no time.

i thought the disc front drum rear were the 30/30....i have a 30/40. i know about the 40/40 but i got the itr mc and booster and the proportioning valve. i didnt even know they had a 30/40. does it have to do with being JDM?

The 4030 prop valve works, but if you do any "spirited" driving, or you have any plans on taking the car to the track, I'd highly advise that you get the 4040 prop valve.

whats up yall, i dont mean to change the subject but i was wondering if an itr booster/master cylinder will fit on a 94 db8 teg. the reason i ask is my MC is leaking, still works but i know i need to change it and would like to upgrade the booster as well. i have searched to find out about the fitment but have had no luck. Thank you
