installing final drive
was wondering how hard if any one has tried it at home to install a final drive or lsd in a b seried tranny. im not expecting it to be easy, but ive built motors just never been into a tranny.thanks.

everything is possible just take your time and double check everything, it also wouldnt hurt to read some tranny re build threads or buy a haynes book or something.

Check out this book. Has section on B-series tranny rebuild with pics and everything. I learned alot from it.

It's pretty easy. Just make sure you take your time when you remove the gear shafts and shift forks. You need to grab all of them at once and take all three out as a whole. Watch that you don't move any of the syncros around too. I had one not fully seated and when I put the case back together one of the shafts popped through! Not fun. Are you asking for like a walk through or just in general how hard is it?
