Installing ECU 94 Honda Civic
I had my engine blow a few years back and replaced the stock DX motor with a D15 vtec. I was told by the mechanic to get the vtec to function to replace the ECU with a modded one on eBay(which I did), making sure the ecu fits the engine and car model. however not really sure what to do other than plug and play.
I've read there is a wire that must be ran from the engine to the new ecu. is this something I should attempt myself or take it to the shop?

It's easy to do but with the way your asking the question I don't think you will be able to.
But you run a wire from the vtec to the ecu. There is a pin out online "honda obd1 ecu pin" type that into google image and it will come up.
Then you just make a loop to ground for the vtec oil pressure sensor.
I'd post links to all the write ups but I'm mobile.

it really wasnt that hard. the overlay harneess was already done. thats the hardest part. we removed the battery and tray. ran the harness threw the firewall and plugged it into the designated slots. then plugged in the solenoid.. but i understand you wanting it done right and being nervous to try it.
