Default installing axle, trouble sliding it in the hub

I'm having some trouble getting the axle to slide in the hole on the brake disc. it's in on the tranny side just fine. i've taken the ball joint and fork off when I was trying to slide it in.. and it would not. i checked the splines and it seems to be lined up correctly...

I tapped it in but I ended up putting a hairline crack on the boot

I read threads where axles would get stuck while trying to remove them, but no threads on them getting suck during installation... maybe im the first lol

Is there a correct way/procedure when sliding the axle inside the hub (brake disc)? Should it just slide in? Maybe spray wd40 next time? Oh yea car is a 99 em1 and I used 99 integra axles from autozone.

late!

I have never heard of a "procedure" for doing this, kind of like getting the tranny lined up when reinstalling it. I had trouble with my axles lining up with the disc side also. I think you just need to rotate them until they slide in. Good luck.

I just replaced the axels on my CTR about 300 miles ago.....ok first off the axels do get stuck from time to time. when installing the axels the way i found works best is if you properly line up the teeth on the axel with the grooves inside the casing. once those are lined up its a multitasking of shaking the axel in and out, while tapping it in with a rubber malet ( so you dont bend or crack and of the teeth that are gonna connect to the hub) If you put anykind of lube on the hub its gonna burn off later.

dude i followed those instructions lol, i printed them out last week... on there it says installation is reverse of removal... which it should be... so I dont know why it's stuck when trying to slide the new one in. now the boot is ripped, so I'll try again on sunday...
