Installing 99 Civic EX A/C into EM1
hey guys, I am looking for some help. I bought a 2000 Civic Si back last June. it needed a lot of work and came with a D16Y8. it has been my project since then and for the most part I brought it back to it's stock form, besides the B series part. one of the main things I hated was that the previous owner took out the A/C and Power Steering and I am not looking forward to this year's heatwave and riding without A/C. anyways, I bought a whole and COMPLETE kit off a friend from his 99 Civic EX. anyways, long story short I was wondering if it was just plug and play and also when I decide to put in a B series motor would I have to exchange it out for another A/C. much appreciated, thanks.

First you need to check to see if your have either a manual or power rack and pinion. You will need a power rack and pinion in order to use power steering. I dont want to get into details yet. Second, the a/c compressor from the Civic Ex will simply work with any B series swap as long as you have a bracket for it. Usually one from the older Crv will work.

I just bought the A/C kit complete. I am not a fan of power steering. I have the bracket it came with from that 99 EX, would that suffice?

really? so you did not need the B20 or Del Sol one? I am pretty sure I have the stock Si one installed, but I need to double check. if not, I have the D series one. I just don't want to go out and look for a B20 or Del Sol one to be honest.

if you have a d series in it, you need a d series bracket. when you decide to put a b series in it, you can use a crv bracket (if you are not using power steering) or a del sol vtec bracket.

oh, alright. well, I no longer have a D series in it and I do not have Power Steering. I am dropping in a B18b, so would I still have to use the CRV or Del Sol bracket?

What part of
is tripping you up? A B18B is a B-series is it not?
