Re: Installin new dizzy, need install tips (gtowni3)
1.) Clean up hole with a rag to make sure there's no dirt or anything in there. Lub with thin coat of engine oil
2.) lube up o-ring on distrib with engine oil
3.) Insert distrib The key will only fit onto the cam one way. I find it's easier to have the cap off the distrib, and just spin the rotor around till it fits in. Gently bottom out the distrib.
4.) Insert the 3 bolts, tighten them down till they just reach the distrib casing, but you can still twist it easy. Center the distrib. Tighten the top one slightly more so it doesn't spin.
5.) Check and adjust timing
6.) Torque mounting bolts to 24 Nm (Manual says 24. I actually say 16-20's probably fine. I go with 20. Functionaly just tighten it hand tight, and give it a slight twist. Then again, I check my timing 2-3 times a year).

When taking off the Dizzy look at the fins when you pull it out. If you look birds eye view down on the fins you will see a line on the base of the fins. Remember that line and make sure with the new dizzy the line goes in the same way. Saves you alot of hassle.
Put in the screws (actually if you want to be lazy you could run it off of the top screw only, i do) Center it up, and then get a timing light and find your timing.
Also a little tip. get a pen or a screwdriver or something and mark the center across the bracket and the dizzy (old one) Then when you put the new one try to mark up the lines the same. That should get you close to your timing. Have fun.
