Default Installed skunk2 manifold, idle surge issues

My car is a 95 civic ex, with the d16z6, I am running stock ECU, stock internals just bolt ons. Last night I installed the skunk2 manifold, I swapped everything over in my house, took my time and everything went well, I re used my stock TB so all sensors were untouched and calibrated as they were. My car ran excellent before the install.

SO it idles up and down, if I unplug the IACV while running, it just idles at 3500.

If I plug the TB with my palm the car dies out, so I am ruling out TB gasket and IM gasket, although I changed the TB gasket anyway and still the same issue,

If I plug the hole inside the TB that leads to the IACV it idles down and sounds great!

Also there is no CEL, until I unplug the IACV then code 7 (TPS) comes up.

I have an appointment with a tuner in about 4 hours so please if anyone has any input suggestions or further tests please let me know!! Thanks in advance.

Check for vacuum leaks with carb cleaner. Also if you haven't bleed your coolant if you opened any coolant lines.

I filled and bleed the coolant, I have no carb cleaner but ran propane torch around all gaskets and hoses and it made no difference. Now when I unplug the IACV it surges at lower RPM and faster. And with it plugged in, I can hear the port open up in the TB and when I plug it, it still surges. I took a youtube video trying to show all the lines plus how it is running. It is uploading now

Use your finger to cover hole for IACV or FITV inside TB. Does surging stop?

When I plug the hole the surging stops and it idles smoothly

Which hole? It matters.

Only pay attention to the first part of the video, because I plugged in the iacv towards the end of the video and plugging the hole didn't help, but after shutting the car off and turning it back on plugging the hole with the iacv plugged in it idles down and runs good again.

But to answer your question, looking into the throttle body, the large port on the left that looks like it leads to the IACV

Went and got some carb cleaner, sprayed everywhere and nothing made a bit of difference so I don't think anything is leaking. Is there a safe way to block the ports by removing the IACV and taping them off then installing the iacv over to firmly hold the tape in place? And by doing that is it safe to drive? I am not worried about idle corrections but I do not want to harm the engine in any way either.

Okay the port I am plugging Is the fast idle port not the IACV so I think I am barking up the wrong tree.

What are the causes of that? I never disassembled the throttle body but I did clean it with soap water and a tooth brush, would getting wet effect it at all? Other than that the fast idle area was untouched and I am using the original throttle body, so the only logical issue I can think of is the gasket isn't sealing where the fast idle port goes through the throttle body

Start by cleaning and adjusting the FITV. Then go from there.

Okay I removed it cleaned it installed it and the symptoms changed a little.

Now when I plug the FITV port it does nothing, but when I plug the IACV port it idles good, whether the IACV is plugged in or not it just pulls tons of air through the port. With it unplugged the idle fluctuates very fast from 1400 to 1600

Sounds like both the FITV and IACV were dirty. Now clean the IACV and then go from there.

Okay I removed the IACV and cleaned it very well, the screen wasn't very dirty though. I installed it, and same thing! I am going out of my mind here, is it possible that plugging the iacv hole would fix idle if the issue was elsewhere? Like coolant level or bubble in coolant etc And is it possible and or safe to bypass the valve??

Bleeding the cooling system is worthwhile. If that doesn't work, then try adjusting the idle speed as per service manual instructions - see FAQs sticky.

Okay I printed the sticky, will bleed the coolant again and then adjust idle and see where that leaves me!

I bleed the system, there was a lot of bubbles. Then adjusted idle the best I could with it fluctuating and it did not help. I did notice some coolant lines that are different from the diagram in the FAQ sticky. BUT I took photos of everything before I removed the IM and the way its all hooked up now Is the same way as before.

I am going to post two pics of the hoses I am talking about

This hose is connected to the hard line, the other end of the hard line has a hose that goes to the junction next to a larger coolant hose by the furthest left bolt from the IM.

This is from the bottom, the hose connects to that long pipe under the IM, and then connects to the IACV. This is where I get confused, in the diagram there should be a connection on this pipe towards the timing belt side that connects to the iacv

Lower left fucked up looking square is connected to the water log that INDEED does connect the water pump to the thermostat housing.

Upper right fucked up looking square goes to the IACV.

Also I was looking at pics of my progress so far and noticed the TB gasket doesn't sit correctly on the manifold, like it may be pulling air from the iac from the center of the gasket not sealing. What is your take on high temp RTV on the throttle body in place of the gasket?

Put a fucked square around the area you are talking about to confirm.

Are you saying it is INDEED wrong? Or INDEED correct?
