Is it tapped into your thermostat?
I remember i installed some kind of slimfan (cant remember the name for the life of me sorry) on a RX7 and it wouldnt go on, so finally we just hit it to a switch and he would hit the switch whenever he was in traffic.
Most of the time you dont even need the fan on.

yeah thats what i want is a switch hooked up...that way i can control the activation times..i think since im runnin a koyo my motor doesnt really need a fan most of the time im driving.....i just dont no why my temp guage rose so high the other day and the fan never came on? i was minutes from overheating ill just trace the wiring and make sure everythings plugged in and possibly hook up a manual switch...
