I'm just a newbie here, and want to ask some questions, hope you guys can give me some clues.

I'm having a 96 Civic 4 doors with D engine. I want to install a tower bar under the hood, but the Intake just blocks in between. Does anybody knows if there any tower bar fits to it without installing a new short ram?

Welcome to H-T.

As far as the strut bar goes you should be able to install it without changing anything in you engine compartment. What kind is it?

the way the intake comes up and to the right, there arent many strut bars that will work, because they will rub on the intake. most are designed for the b series motor swapped in.

you will have to use a y8 intake manifold for the strut bar to fit. it wont work with the y7 manifold

not true... a y8, z6, or even the old civic si (ef hatchback) manifolds are not b series manifolds and they allow strut bars to fit..

strut bars are not designed to meet the needs of a motor, they are deisgned to rigidly anchor two points (shock towers in this case together).

the reason he is having trouble is because he has the weird intake manifold where the intake connects vertically not horizontally.

from experience... there is not much you can do.. but if you get a y8 manifold.. i hear it gives better flow

what i meant was due to the manifold design there arent many bars that will fit.

you can always add the oem one, but that will consist of drilling and mounting bolts as well.
