My distributor got jacked...

how practical is it for me to install it myself?
i would need to time it after correct?
how hard is it?
what parts do i need?
how long does it take?

I have directions, finding tcd , etc. etc. how easy is it to screw up etc.

You should be able to just throw that b!tch in there. They're made so that the 'legs' only go in one way. You can't put it in 180 off or anything like that. As long as the timing belt is still set, the base timing is fine. Just shoot it w/ a timing light to get it perfect.

you don't need to find tdc, the dizzy only goes on one way.

but don't be like me and fry your dizzy and waste all kinds of money. make sure to disconnect your battery before doing any work on your dizzy!!!!!!!!!!!!

when you get your dizzy on you can move it around until it idles nicely, just do it by feel. then you really should have somebody set your timing, but now you can drive your car to a shop to do that

lol dizzy. ive never heard that before i started posting on Honda-Tech.

all you need is a 12mm wrench and 12mm socket. since the dizzy only goes on one way, its pretty damn easy. when its on there just turn it so the bolt is in the middle of the leg on the top... of the dizzy.

So just push that sucker in, screw it up, and start it? what if the dizzy's not set to the right cylinder or something like that? or is it really fool proof?

the distributor key that goes into the end of the cam can only fit one way. its off-center so its fool proof unless you jam that bitch in there. once you got it in, rotate it so that the legs line up with the holes in the head. then make sure the plug wires are in the right place. the firing order is 1 3 4 2. heres a pic to help you out...
