Default is instaliing a type r engine any diffrent then a gsr

i got many replies from my last topic about what problems i would run into swapping my eg stock engine with an integra type r engine. But most of the replies i got that had links to shop manuals or typed out instrutions all talked about swapping gsr enigines is there any diffrences between swapping a gsr engine or a type r engine.

thanks

you can get an obd 1 gs-r engine. then there are the knock sensor, the spool valve switch, the oil switchand the IAB (dont know what that stands for) to wire up. since the type-r is only obd 2, you will need to have your ecu chipped or hondata, to run it, and you will need an obd 1 distributor. and 3 of the 4 afore mentioned senslro. less the IAB. someone please correct me or add if i missed anything. thanks.

you have to change your one plug distributor to the two plug distributor, and use your stock wire harness. the injectors have to be changed with your stock ones assuming they are the same as the type r ones. I think the only difference is the fuel pressure regulator. then wire up your v-tec solenoid and pressure switch then the knock sensor. you will also have to rechip a stock si ecu or gsr ecu to the type r spec.should be pretty simple as long as you take your time but keep everything obd1.dont worry about hooking up the crank sensor. and if you want you can use an obd1 dist. the alternator plug is also different but you can splice the square obd2 plug in.
