input on selling a 92 hatchie(serious input only please)... 56k no way (18pix)
my cousin owns a 92 hatchie (red, lowered, a few mods). and now he wants to sell it(he bought it after thinking he would stay here after leaving the navy but recently changed his mind a bought a place in the philipines. now he wants to sell it. im also not sure what brands any of the things he has on there is. all i know is it has a skunk2 strut bar.
THE BADS:
- squeeky suspension in the right rear
- no radio
- cold air intake (no pass for smog)
- driver side window sometimes gets miss aligned (problems going down, alignment)
- sometimes the passenger window has a hard time going up. (electrical i believe)
- head , tail and turn signal lights arent stock
- doesnt have the hatch read dash board thing
- previous owner changed the steering wheel and guage pod and dint install them correctly (rpm guage needle wobbles pass 3000 rpm. air bags disconnected)
- right fog light needs replacing
- salvaged do to theft
THE GOODS:
- very clean and shiny paint
- nice interior(very very clean for its age, and i will clean it out)
- coil overs all around
- perfect clutch (not sure if its stock or after market, most likely aftermarket)
THE PICTURES:
how much would it go for?

I just bought a 92 hatch for $1500. Has large rust holes above rear wheels, no other problems. Leather and only 110,000 miles.

i think for all the stuff that has to be replaced or repaired i think $2000 is generous. not to mention the miles. don't think i'm trying to be a ***** here, it's just that i am very pick and when i go to buy a used car i'm not just looking at the outside of the car:

i'm looking what i have to repair down the lines as maintence, performance, and cosmetics.

you see that's the thing, everyone wants to sell civics expensive because they know how reliable honda's are and that's what the majority of the youth are looking at(not to say you), and there is always a couple of thing to consider. the trim level of the car, the condition of the car (motor, exterior, and interior), and milage. around where i live they sell cx's and dx's for about $4500, and that's a completely stock civic's.
people over price because of the civics popularity. if you want a more accurate pricing check the kelly blue book.

Exactly, I found my Civic in a tiny town with no more than 200 people where everyone drives 1984 F350s. I paid $1500, I could sell it for $3000 no problem where I live. Tell him to start high.

Deduct $250 for the license plate in the window, another $250 for the rear taillights, and 1 dollar for every butt connector and ziptie you see.

If you sell it to some punk high school kid, you'd probably get like 3000 for it since it's fast and furious to them.
But in the real market with knowledged buyers, you'd be lucky to walk away with 1800 for that.
It just depends on who you pitch to. The problem is if you sell it to some kid's parents, knowing to yourself it needs work, would you sleep well at night? I wouldn't.

some guy did that to me but good thing in hs 3/4 of it was autoshop, and i work as a mechanic atkia @ 17yrs old, well im about to lol, but ya my **** needed work bad, oil leaks valve cover, rear main, oil pan leaks, burning coolant, guy thought fan was **** but was just a fuse, umm headgasket, 200+ miles, cracked exhaust manifold frame damage
and i paid 2 grand lol w/e it was champ white, with a fluidyne rad, 5zigen catback, some apc euros, intake, strut bars rear and bac, and some konig rate-r's lol
i threw some jdm corners on em, couldnt find any jdm tail so i blacked out the euros,
dropped the motor and in the process of straighting the frame, getting ready to turbo charge her
dericed her and restored her

Re: (spork motorsports)
Well, I think you could get a pretty decent amount. The body is excellent, it looks to be an Si, and it even has EX doors(power windows-which arent even stock on Si)
Just find a sucker. Personally you won't catch me in a EG hatch ever, but that's what everyone wants.

I just bought 94 Civic Dx for $1100. Clean interior/exterior. Driver side floor mat is the only thing worn inside. Quarter-size rust on right rear fender. That's all.
