Inpection Time! Dimmer Switch Problem... Help!!
in my 1993 civic my dimmer switch is glitching out. I have to tap on it sometimes so my guages lights will come on. I know that when I take off the dimmer switch there are 3 wires connected to it (color escape me) I was wondering If i can make a short that will have my lights on all the time or If anyone knew where I could get a new dimmer.

goto the dealer and pick up a new one, hit a junkyard or check out honda market place for one. Buy the way this could have been added into you first post about your horn

Bump for similar issue-
The guy I bought my 93 Civic from put in the little j D m pocket stupid thing and the dimmer and harness are screwed up. It's just lying behind the dash rattling anyway, so, to stop the blinking, I pull out all three wires (two hot, one ground), tie the two power wires together (thus eliminating the resistor [dimmer switch]), and connect the ground to a good chassis point.
Doesn't work. I'm not an electrical guy and clearly my method is flawed. Any help?

if you want your car to catch on fire, then go ahead and hack up the wire harness. ANd to the last guy who posted about taping the two hots together, the wire that you said is a ground should feed to your cluster lights, and then the lights are the grounds.

best i remember you can jump red/black to red and its bypassed. dash lights will be at full illumination. verify this with a meter first though.
