ingall's install price...
What's up y'all? I recently installed coilovers and with them i intend to throw in some front control arm replacements by ingalls for camber adjustability. I tried to put em in while i was installing the coilovers, and didn't know beforehand you had to press the balljoints out of the old ones. Long story short i went to a couple shops and got a few diff answers.
1.) "no, we won't do it. Too much responsibilty."
2.) local speed shop-"195 without alignment." to which i laughed
3.)local tire and battery-"75 per side plus alignment" 150+55 for align.=205
4.)full service shop-"195 with alignment."
Well i had the whole OEM control arm off on the pass front. Not too hard at all. And that's without the use of air tools. What i'm wondering is Did anyone else pay to have the balljoints installed? and if so what did you pay and where? And yes. now i know to get the ball joints along with the kit next time! ONLY 15$ more!!! im kicking myself in the *** hard right now. i can't believe im actually thinkin of paying one of these ridiculous prices. TIA, MIKE D.

Re: ingall's install price... (sombasol)
WOW SOOO MUCH HELP. could you read the post before you answer? i already had one of them off and did not purchase the ones with ball joints. You NEEEED A PRESS to get the old ones (ball joints) out without busting them. I didn't have a press or air tools so i just put the old control arm back on and let it go. Now shops are quoting me ridiculous prices to have them installed. ( see 1st post for info). Iwas wondering how much anyone else paid to have theirs installed if they had them installed at a shop. Don't be shy. It's ok to get some things installed people. P.S. if anyone paid for just the balljoint pressed out of the old ones and into the new ones can you also post that? TIA, mike D.

Re: ingall's install price... (sombasol)
BTW, i believe progress also replaces the whole UCA as well. So i would believe it would be the same price. Shops usually go by time quotes given by either the factory or the chain that the shop is to replace a specific part. Since both are dealing with all the same parts I.E. ball joints, control arms. I would assume they would be around the same. Mike D.
