Infamous Civic LCA Problem
Well trying to take apart my suspensions on my old car --> new car and new car --> old car I ran into some problems. On the new car (hatchcrap) we got the front out fine with the aid of some air t00ls but when it came to the back the damn bolt in the LCA was frozen (wouldnt even spin). So i go about getting some GSR LCA"s, might as well ITR Sway Bar.
But now I am left with this...
So now I'm wondering what would be the best way to get the shock/spring assembly out, keep in mind i dont give a **** about teh LCA, dont even need the bolt anymore.
Thanks Again

Re: Infamous Civic LCA Problem (Malachi)
you're going to have to cut through the bolt and the bearing. It'll take you a couple days with a hacksaw. Air tools will speed up the process.

Re: Infamous Civic LCA Problem (tonyxcom)
just bought the car....
its running GC's/Illuminas as of now. But im thinking in a little re-hauling the whole suspension w/custom rate GC's w/Koni Yellows, ITR Rear Sway, GSR Front Sway, and GSR disc brakes all around. Better?

Something similar happened to my car, I took the assembly to this shop that repairs 18 wheelers, and they punched it off in about 30 seconds, only cost me a six pack of beer.

Something like this happen to me too. I took it to the local performance shop to get it fixed. My bolt head was actually broken off. The guys down there told me that they actually torch it before they work on these bolts.
Anyways, they used Saz-All to saw through the LCA bushing and the bolt. And then they sawed off the nut that is welded on the LCA(located on the back side on the picture). Once that was done, they just poped the remaining bolt off the LCA thread. Cost me $20.
