Default Indtroduction

Hey everyone, My name is Terrance, and Im from Calgary Canada. im buying my first car come january/second week of febuary... and its probably going to be a 1995 Honda Civic HB, which is bone stock as it sits now. I was told about this site by a friend, and he said it would be the best for any questions/advice for problems and stuff like that, that I may come across.

I do work in an autoparts store, so i can get some wicked deals.. but my problem is, where do I start??

EVENTUALLY, I would like to do a K20 swap with a B20 head, but thats for when i get out of my parents house and get my own haha..

so i was thinking, what are some upgrades I should start with?

Injen Cold air? some kind of new header? exaust? what else would you guys suggest?

Thanks alot, and sorry for the long first post

Terrance

coming from experience.

if this is your first car.

just leave it alone for a while and enjoy being able to drive it.

any old car you get is going to have some issues (yes even a honda), so drive it and find the problems first. fix those and then work on modifying it.

Before you do anything to it just make sure everything is running perfectly, replace worn out belts, hoses etc. and clean it up real nice.

Then maybe start with some minor suspension mods or something. An ebay intake will be fine with a k&n filter or something.

And you cant put a b20 head on a k20, and even if you could why would you? =/

Ive got a K20a2 with a B20 head on it... who says it cant be done? giggity giggity giggity goo!
OP: Welcome to honda tech, MAKE SURE YOU SEARCH before posting questions and what not, or prepare to get flamed. Good luck getting your car...like 92ehatch said, dont jump into the car and start ripping everything apart when you dont know what you're doing. Enjoy driving the car, I've been enjoying my 99 Civic Si(Si-R for you) for 7 years and I am just now starting to do stuff to it. good luck!

sorry to sound bogus but try n keep post to a minimum and do a lot of reading by saying u wanna put a b20 head on a k20 motor lets us know your level of experience working at a parts store will help a lot w doing a lot of your own maintenance. The more u read the more you will learn. Keep the car as stock as possible and save up for quality parts so u dont learn the hard way between real vs fake. GOod LuCk...

Stay away from a stiff suspension setup for daily driving.
