Default indiglo gauges.

So I bought my ej1 with this indiglo without the switches for the lights. Is there a way I could wire them to light up? it's just those white wires with the black tip for the plug.

^^ I dont have that..

^^ those white wires.. is there a way? I just want it to light up so I can see it.

I don't think those will work.

See, you're just changing the face plate..

Your stock gauge goes to 130mph.

I think when you install those you'll be seeing an incorrect speed rating.

80mph on that cluster is where 60mph is on a regular EJ1 cluster. You're not changing the cluster, just the numbers basically.

I seriously don't think it'll read right - at all. Guess it's good for fooling people though.

"Hey look, I'm doing almost 160mph" when it's really about 120 .

At least I think, iono, EJ1 clusters only go up to 130, I could be wrong about the readings though. You sure you got these for a 92-95 civic?

Not to mention with the redline being 8 there, obviously it's 7.2K on Z6's....what, 6500? on the LX's? Something along those lines. Either way there's no USDM stock D series that I know of w/ a redline of 8k.

That's not the actual picture.. I know the number match up. I just wanted to show you guys the sample pictures. Yeah I hate the rice look but I just wanted to know if I can get it to light up in the meantime till I get the OEM cluster. I thought about the whole negative and postive wires.. but they are both white wires coming out of it. So how would I be able to tell?

expletive it, just wrap the wires around the positive and negative terminals of a 12v battery from radio shack.

What's the worst that could happen?

No. You need an inverter to run EL gauge faces - they run on high voltage. 12V won't do anything.

Ebay usually has the inverters alone - like here:http://cgi.ebay.com/EL-GLOW-GA...wItem

those gauges are made to run with a little converter box and/or switch like you have pictured
besides the fact that your gauges will be off in speed ratings...etc.
those indiglos are made to run on a low voltage setup....prolly like around 3-5 volts
your car is 12 volts. if you try to hook them straight up to your illumination wires you will either
1. blow them out instantly because of the higher voltage they weren't designed for
2. blow them out instantly because of the higher voltage they weren't designed for and have your car catch on fire

I wanna see choice (2).

Dashboards on fire FTW.

(Though I doubt that will happen).

try this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I...q.jpg
i've heard it happen from people that like to hack in stereo installs.
either not running the power wire through a grommet in the firewall or just running the power wire through your door jambs (i see that and almost choke laughing).
all friction aside....they lacked one important thing...a $.50 fuse...and now they're down a $15,000 car rofl
