Important Question about trannies
I'm about to buy a B16A tranny and I have 2 options.
1) Buy a JDM for a little more
2) Buy a 2000 SIR tranny for less
Now I don't give a **** about this JDM crap but what I do care about is the gearing.
I'm all motor so I like the shorter gearing and was wondering if the USDM tranny has the same gearing as the JDM or is the JDM gearing shorter??
TIA

Re: Important Question about trannies (RagingAngel)
ya.. look for a see through differential... that = LSD....
I would go for a S4C (open diff though) or a S80 (could have a LSD or not... be sure to look)
both of these have the same gearing.. but the FD in the 98+ ITR S80 has a 4.785... To bad there is no real way to prove this though... In my ITR with a 4.4 @ 4500 RPM's i am at 80 mph... So at 80 mph if you are at around 4800 rpms then that would be a good indicator of the higher FD...
