Im tryin to redo my brakes
How do I get the calipers off the front so I can replace the pads and rotors ? My haynes manual says to use a large c clamp to compress the piston by puttin one end on the outer pad and the other on the back of the caliper somewhere but how is that not just pushing the pad right against the rotor ? Im just confused basically can someone clear it up for me thanks

to take the front calipers off the front you need to take off the 2bolts that are in the back of the caliper (I beleive its a 14mm) there is one at the top and one at the bottom of the caliper. and thenit should slide right off. and then take off the pads and theeen put the new ones in after you have cromperessed the piston back. and theeeen IM me on what to do with the c-clamp

You have to compress it AFTER you remove the calipers from the rotor, not before. This will also usually cause the brake fluid to overflow the master cylinder. Put rags around the master cylinder to catch the fluid...
