Default Im stumped. How do you check fuel pressure eg hatch

Oki so I have a eg hatch I just dropped a fresh swap in. I also installed a brand new fuel pump in it. It sounds a bit funny when it primes and when I first got it put together it took a minute to get fuel to the fuel rail. I would like to check fuel pressure but I dont know where to hook up a fuel pressure tester to. can someone give me some help? and If you got any ideas on what could be wrong with my car let me know too! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

What fuel pump are you using? Check the voltage going to the pump and make sure its enough to power the pump. For the tester it depends on what type you have but you could pull the return line off and T into that.

Easiest way is to just get a fuel pressure gauge which is like $30 bux and make sure it comes with the fitting onto the fuel filter.

I had the original one on there and I install a brand new autozone one that seemed to work better but not right. I probably do need to go buy a gauge but im afraid that I'd need some metric fittings which I KNOW the tool i buy locally probably wont have it. But that idea of the return line I believe will work also so i might do that

the only problem with this like I said is I dunno if they'll have mm fittings.

Also I have a b-series aem fuel rail with a guage on it. is there any way I can take that guage off of the rail and stick it on my sohc somewhere? or am I just talking crazy?? lol

Thanks everyone for the help I really appreciate it.

x2

That is what I mean, the kit that comes with the fittings and they are metric.
You can take the fuel gauge off your AEM fuel rail however you would still need the fittings onto the fuel filter.

You can get the entire guage or you can get just the gauge adaptor which is like $8.95 + shipping from eBay.
