ok so the problem is on a 93 honda del sol with a d15b7. This girl was driving it and shifted into 4th and the timing belt snapped. She was at lower rpms as she said atleast. I took the head off and i don't see any marks on the valves or the pistons. And then i rotated the camshaft slowly and got one set of valves open. I then took a small paint brush and some white paint and painted around the underside and side of the valves and then rotated the cam again to close them. I opened them back up and checked to see if the paint went all the way around on the head where the valves seat and i did this to all of them and they all made a full circle and what appeared to be a perfect seal. Is this a sufficient way of checking to see if the valves are bent without having to take everything out.

So i put the head back and and got everything back together and now it won't start. It rotates but doesn't run. I am getting spark, and i can hear the fuel pump kick on and i can smell gas so im pretty sure its getting gas. When i go to crank it though it sounds like when you fire a potato gun. It kinda sounds like its firing at the wrong time or something but i have checked everything i can think of. Can anyone give me some hints or suggestions. I really want this car out of my garage so i can put my gas tank back on my b16 crx and drive it again finally. If you need any more info just ask.

Sounds like some valves did get bent. Or you got the timing off when you put the belt on.

Me: No...

Low and behold...nothing's wrong with it besides a flat tire .
