Im having issues... Wiring ECU hackjob
ok i have a 1993 honda del sol (and i just bought it a month ago so bear with me) it has a motor to a B16A and its a 5-spd. I dont know what trans. is in it but i know it had a cable clutch and was converted to a hydro. clutch. im pritty sure it was converted to ODB1. I dont know what ECU is in it so here are the numbers on it... ASH, 470-210068, 37820-p30-010. so here are my problems- when i let off the gas sometimes i smell gas, and if i accelarate semi hard it back-fires. also i need to know what the guy who owned it before me did to the wiring harnes. on the mass of wires going in to the ECU he cut 2 and hand wired them into part of the harnes under the hood. one is on the A plug 'i think' its orange with a blue stripe and the other is on the C or D plug and its orange with a white stripe. and my last issue is im hooking up a air to fuel ratio gauge and i need to know what wire on the ECU to tap in to.

you have a p30 ecu. the orange/blue is vtec oil pressure, and the orange/white is the vtec solenoid. sounds like he just wired them straight to the ecu.

If its backfiring when you let off the gas or when you're accelerating fairly heavily then it's running very rich. A narrow band air-fuel ratio gauge isn't going to tell you anything more than that, so I'd say it's not even necessary to worry about.
