Default I'm going SOHC Turbo. Got some ?s about fuel management.

I would just get hondata but my resources are limited here, i live in spain. So i am going the DIY turbo route with a hf manifold/t25 turbo and was a little unnerved about how to up the fuel. I have turbod my obd0 civic but this seems a little different. Is there anything wrong with doing a walbro 255 fuel pump upgrade, rc injectors, and a Synapse FPR w/ FMU? I should only be running between 8-10 psi. thx.

Can you give more specifics on your setup? What ecu are you running? engine model? Upgraded fuel pump, injectors, fmu, and map sensor bypass valve will work and was working for most people before hondata and uber, and crome were conceived. If you're using an obd0 or obd1 ecu and just running a low boost setup, you could probably get away with a basic basemap from most of the guys offering ecu chipping services on HT and 450cc injectors.

you do not need to use the walbro with 8-10 psi.
FPR and Injectors are all you will need for fuel.
With a tune your done.

Since it seems like your on a budget this is what I'd do...

walbro 255...less then $100
dsm 450cc injectors... $50
you'll be fine with your stock fuel pressure regulator

And one of the many apexi products so you can still use a stock ecu (which you'll want to chip yours or get a obd2 vtec ecu)

My cheap route suggestion would be: Prelude Vtec injectors OBD2 in your case, walboro FP, used apexi AFC

many of the RX7 injectors works for Hondas because they are saturated and not Peak and Hold. Now why would you use FMU when you running a standalone ECU? Just doesnt make sense. If i were you and im limited on resource and money. I would run a chipped P28 ECU and get a wideband and street tune it yourself. Check out http://www.homemadeturbo.com for more info on self ECU tuning

okmits not necisarily money. its just that i did a DIY turbo kit on my b16 hatch when i was 16 and it worked wonderfully, so i can;t really justify buying a "kit" just to make sure, which obd do my injectors NEED to be, i thought obd1 injectors were the same as OBD2. i am not necisarily on a budget, just don't want to spend money on **** that isn't worth it. thx for the support.

heres my suggestion go to this website j-k-tuning.com. and order this a obd2a=obd1 conversion harness a chipped p28 ecu. u will need to tell him what sise injectors what and what motor you plan on using. like u said before u plan on doing a mini me head swap. then go get a wind band and download uberdata and street tune it your self. but before u go to try and tune it read alot about tuning a car make sure u dont [freak] it up. a couple of my friends tuned there cars about 2 years ago and they still run good with no problems just make sure u read alot about tuning it thats what they did.

so get the conversion harness w/ a chipped P28......do the head swap and wire vtec....then go dl uberdata and tune it myself.......sounds way too simple. i've successfully tuned a turbo RX-7 on Haltec, please tell me this isn't any harder?

i wouldnt know im posotive its alot different. i never tuned a car but what some of my firends did they tuned it themselves and had no problems as far as screwing up the whole motor. im sure it wanst tuned to the max to get the best power but. it was able to be driven daily and they been running on the same tune for 2 years and there cars are still running. and yea thats my advice go get a conversion harness chipped p28 with a basemap of your setup and get a windband, download uberdata and read everything u can about self tuning a car then go tune it.

get a good engine management system like hondata, at least use uberdata. what year is the car? overbuilding your fuel setup is perfectly fine and a smart thing to do. walbro 255 is just fine

why the [freak] are people hating on hondata are you stupid fool?

yea uberdata would but just fine but whats the point of using a 255 fuel pump for 8-10 pounds a stock pump is fine i used a stock fuel pump on 10 pounds it worked just fine.

are u planning on building out the engine? If you run 15PSI on ur d16y7 u might blow the head. If your planning on doing a minime swap then you really need to watch out since the compression will be like 9.9:1 or something like that. So idk if it could even hold 10psi without blowing. And since you have no place to get it tuned I would really be careful. I know people who have blown stock D16Y7's and Y8's on as little as 8PSI because of poor tuning/lack of tuning.

well i am going atleast as far as a block gaurd and ARP head studs. anyone have any recomendations for pistons and rods? my addiction to the d series is growing, want to see just how much these little things can do.
