i'm going to bar within a month.
ok so i'd been looking around for a swap or "ca bar" section but whatever...
i'm swapping in a 99 gsr into my 96 civic dx. i've got the p72 ecu. full harness, and tranny.
my question is this though. for the people that have made their swap legal, did you guys bite the bullet and buy a brand new oem cat for the swap? cuz if i did that, thatll be another 800 bucks! cant i just borrow one from a friend that has a 96 or newer gsr? you know take it off and put it up to my civic, go to bar, then give it back to him when i'm done?

You could just get a working cat from a freind and after you bar your car just give it back. Make sure all your vacum hose and wiring is right and the motor is not throwing any cel. If you want after putting on a cat find some one that will test smog your car and see if it pass before going there, that what I did with my swap to put less pressure on you.
