Default I'm getting tired of this!!!

Okay, there have been problems from the beginning. Anyways... today i was completely free of any problems. Atleast for about 9 hours I was. I finally replaced my axle today and so the clicking noise has gone. No more tranny leaks, no funny idle and the car was driving great. 1hr ago i pull up to a fast food place and my check engine light goes on. WTF??? Now What??? Anyways, If it goes back on in the morn, how do i check what code it is throwing? I mean, I don't have a manual and I just can't get my hands on the Helms manual like everyone says to do. Will a chilton or haynes be good enough??? Or if anyone can instruct me on how to check the code, I would be greatly obliged. Atleast then i could post what came up. Thanks

Peace

There is a little 2 pin plug that is not connected to anything over your ecu....under your dash/glovebox. Put a paper clip in there as a jumper and the check engine light will flash the code. A short flash is 1...and a long flash is 10. A chiltons manual should have the codes in them

its gonna be a little blue connector with two holes in it , just put both ends of the paper clip in the connector and you're ready to do the test

its not on the ECU, its above where the ecu mounts, probably sitting in a green looking thing

there is nothing above it... do you mean on this???? in the circle??? Nothing is on that. either side!!! Help... hahaha For reals though, i just want to know now... the check engine is gone... and yes, i've reset the ecu... and no more check engine... there was a wire really loose, i just plugged it in and it was okay. I just want to know how to check for a code next time.

behind the right side of the glove box, above the blue circle, under the dash. get on your back and look up there you will find it.

Just put a wire in the pinout C4. Run that to the positive side of a switch, ground the switch. When you turn your car into the accessory mode and flip the switch your check engine light should blink. If you dont know how to read the blinks let me know. This is what I did on my car and it worked.
