Default I'm getting a 93 VX tomorrow, want to swap a b16-2 in there!

Hey guys, I'm going to be picking up a 92 VX tomorrow and was going to get a B16-2 for it, on HMO they have the completer change over or just the longblock... which one should I get ? Also are there any mount kits that I would have to purchase? Does anyone have a list of what's needed to swap a B16 into a 92 VX? TIA

It's called a B16A2, or 2nd Gen JDM B16A.

You'll need the complete swap.

Use the B-series mounts.

Do a search. You'll find 139082934120 posts about this.

so it does require the $500 hasport mounts? I was told the motors bolt right into EG models, what is recommended for replacement on the swap?

My post was a tad confusing...I meant that there are two motors he could be referring to, the B16A2 or the 2nd Gen JDM B16

You don't need the HASport mounts, just the mounts that come with the engine.

you will need a hasport motor mount kit for the swap and a friend to help operate the lift when u put the swap in and i suggest u ditch the ac unit if u can live without it

I think this is my last post for the day, anyone wanna clear this up... also would an AC bracket be needed for the AC? (I live in FL, 50 lbs ain't worth dying to me)

and what's the difference between the B16A2 and the 2ndgen b16?

if you get a "full swap" sometimes it doesn't come with the original B series mounts if you're lucky it does and those can be used as a direct bolt in for the VX. If they're damaged in any way then you can either buy the mount kit or get used mounts. If the Vx has AC then you need to buy a 95 del sol vtec AC compressor bracket in order to bolt in the compressor . You have a choice to just rip it out or stay comfortable on hot days and keep it in. As for the mounts I sugust buying a front clip if you search out engine import places they sometimes sell them for cheep anywhere from $1800-$2200

there is a difference between these 2 motors the 2nd gen is a bit better than the 1st gen b16. Both have b16 stamped on the block.

I don't think this swap has ever been done. Good luck finding info out about it. Only the most l337 take on this swap.
