Re: (Silverbeast)
if all he needed was to search google then there wouldn't really be a point to this forum.
your preasure problem could be that but i would that if that was your problem then it would be leaking oil where the bolts are. i could be wrong so i hope some HT members answer your question instead of bein dicks

Could possibly be the problem. Just put them to spec and see if it persists.

if it says put them to 96ft pounds, and you only put it on 21...your going 2 have to tighten it up anyway...so just do it, and get back to us. Also, how do you know you have no oil pressure?

don't touch that car again until you get a helms manual. i can't believe you tried that without having one. 95% of technical problems i've seen on honda boards would never happen, or could be resolved if people would get a helms manual, read it, and understand it.
haynes manuals are worthless, incomplete, and full of inaccuracies. i recived one as a gift: it contains half assed information for the 96-00 civic, 94-01 integra, and 97-00 crv. hahaahah, those three cars are so similar . burn your haynes manual, and drop the wrench before you hurt yourself -> http://www.helminc.com

Re: (jwn7)
First off, the specs say 96 in-lbs, not foot. That's 8 foot-pounds. If you torqued it to 21, it might never want to go back in again. I'm also assuming you are talking about the oil pickup tube and not the 'oil pump' which really has no bolts, only a cover.
And in this case, no, overtightening won't cause the oil pressure to drop, a loose pickup would, as it would seep by the input and not suck up all the oil as it should be. You mentioned u checked the torque and if u got 21 to click on you, then it's not stripped free (therefore not loose), just be aware I don't think it's gonna like going back in.
btw, i love all the bs fkn posts up above.. if you don't have something to add to the subject, troll on through, kthx..
