Im Confused...
Heres the prob. ok My MPH gauge is 10Mph off. I have a 96-00 si tranny, there was a D-series speed sensor in the thing when I bought it. I replaced it with a B-series one. still 10mph off. now weird part about this is in my 92 si I have a Dx cluster, idk if that makes any difference what so ever. I just bought the car so this is why I'm asking.
thanks Everyone.

Re: Im Confused...
Sounds like 2 bad VSS's. Replace as needed.
Oh wait, it could be a bad cluster too but I would replace your VSS with the correct one for your tranny 1st.

Re: Im Confused...
....youve got some confusion going on here....
there is no 96-00 Si trans....only 99-00 Si trans....since you said you replaced your VSS with a B-series, im going to assume your running SOME sort of B-series motor with the EM1 tranny on there.
What ECU are you running? The clusters should read the same between models, just one has different RPM range and maybe higher MPH, but the electronics in your cluster should read it and adjust accordingly....
i would say try another VSS. And how could you tell your off by 10mph? are you 10 OVER or 10mph UNDER?

ok its a EM1 tranny with a B20 engine.
the Vss is bran new so I don't think it would be shot.
ecu is Neptune
and its 10mph High. and I could tell by just gettin on the highway next to my friend just to compare speeds.

Re: Im Confused...
i have a JDM ITR motor in my civic....if i run the stock computer, everything reads exact...if i plug in my chipped P28, the RPM's and the speed is off by a little bit....i have a VAFC wired with the P28, and the reading on the VAFC reads different that my cluster all the time....i think it may be from using the aftermarket computer....

Re: Im Confused...
my car is 100% stock.
ive run by some of those "your speed" signs and above 30 mph my gauge is 7 mph off.
so if im doing 85 on the interstate (my speedometer) then im actually going 78 mph.
i got beside a 2006 civic one night and i could see their speedometer.
i was going slower than them by a little bit.
their speedometer read 45 and mine said 52
i accept it as normal
