LOOOOOL!!! This guy!
I got a new windshield, and the trims pieces. I'm really picky, so I wanted to go back with an OEM glass. PPG originally supplied the glass for these Civics, and my car had a PPG glass installed in 2007 at the time of its color change. I called my glass guy and he told me the quality of PPG has gone to **** in the past few years because they sold their glass division in 2008 and renamed it PGW, and then they sold PGW again in 2016 and he said since then their fit and finish is doo doo.
He mentioned to me that Pilkington glass was awesome, and an OEM supplier and the funny thing is I already knew this because my wife's 2017 Civic Sport has a Pilkington windshield. So I got a Pilkington glass for my hatch, and the pic of the two Pilkington logos are mine, and my wife's OEM windshield on her Sport.

Re: I'm back in an EG.
Phase one of audio upgrades is done. New modern head unit with customizable back lighting. I've got it matched to the white backlighting of the OEM climate controls. Front door component speakers with tweeters hidden behind the OEM AR tweeter pods found in 94-95 EX. Rear speakers upgraded in OEM speaker pods in quarter plastics. Custom fitted the OEM block off plate and an OEM storage pocket into the lower audio console. Pardon the filth. I' didn't have a chance to clean anything prior to the pics.

In the 1/10000K chance you ever sell this car, I call first dibs.
Every time you post new pictures I think I salivate slightly.

Re: I'm back in an EG.
I am a butt-hurt about OEM glass as well. Back in 2007-8 I got a new PPG windshield before the name change. In 2016 I needed a new windshield again and got a PGW one. I knew about the sale of the division and name change, but I did not know that the quality went to **** in 2016. What made you want to inquire about the current OE for windshields, if you had a PPG from 2007 when it the quality should have been nice?

Well to be fair the guy I bought it from has first dibs. Only thing is I'd ask more than I paid for it for all the **** I've put into it, and the fact that the prognal asking price was WAY low for what he was selling. If I was hurting I'd offer it to him first for what I paid plus some of what I put in. If I were selling in the open market my price tag would be LUDICROUS.

Re: I'm back in an EG.
My PPG was nice, but it had ten years of use and when I could not get my new right side vertical trim to clip in properly due to excess urethane when the windshield was installed I said "**** it" and got a new glass too. The rest of the car was too nice to have a glass with any pits and blasting. I also knew Pilkington was Honda OEM glass because my wife's 2017 Sport has it. I inquired from the glass guy if he didn't like PGW, what did he like? He said Pilkington was awesome, and an OE supplier for many makes. I then told him that my wife' Civic had one, and he was like "yeah they're great."

Honstly, I could see this easily selling for ~$35K if advertised in the right market. USDM Si models are getting really hard to find, especially as clean as this. Plus the engine setup is proven to be both reliable and fun.
I know a lot of people will say that's a crazy price tag for a Civic, but looking at what our cars are selling for now on the open market, I definitely know it's possible.

Nice looking whip. I just picked up a 94 EX coupe this past weekend, so I poke my head back in this forum and can't believe you're still doing this too, Tom. I used to live down in ClayCo and we ran in the same circles about 15-20 years ago.

Awesome! I had to come back after five long years without an EG. I've always had Hondas, but the EG are my favorite. What's the 1994 build going to be?

Re: I'm back in an EG.
Same about always having Hondas - over the years I've even owned a Beat and a couple of N600 projects that never got finished. I got rid of my EG hatch back in 2005 and have daily driven an EF sedan for the last 14 years. The 94 coupe is going to be a 'grocery getter from hell' turbo D16Z6, I've started a build thread over in the FI forum. For now I'm leaving the paint (Camellia Red Pearl) faded and as-is...you know, wolf in sheep's clothing. I always admired how clean your builds were, and how you could always seem to get that clean NOS OEM part that no one could find. Looks like things haven't changed much.
