Here is the exact email I received:
"Hello,
I'm the owner of the 1994 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo on which you've recently show interest. The car is in excellent condition and it has a clean title. The price for the car is $3,500 with shipping and handling included in price. I am located in Houston, TX now and the car will be shipped from here. Shipping will be done via DAS and it will take no more then 2-3 days top (depending on your exact location).
The transaction will be made through SafePay Solutions for our own protection. You will have 5 days to inspect and test drive the car upon arrival with no obligation to buy. If you are interested in the purchase, please get back to me and let know so we can make the deal.
Sincerely,
Seller (I changed his name) "
Let me know your thoughts, thanks!

sounds like one of those craiglist scams.......one time this guy sent me $4,500 in money orders(they can easily be counterfitted) for a $200 bass cab.......he told me to deposit it in my account and send the left over money after shipping to his "old friend" who the bass cab was to be sent to.....way to shady so i never cashed it....sent an email telling the guy this was shady and never heard back.
where was this deal offered...classifieds or some online thing?

most likely a scam, does he want any money up front? If you see the car and you don't have to pay him any money up front then I don't see why you couldn't do this. Just ask yourself... why would he be selling this car for so cheap, why wouldn't he want more money out of it?

Same thing happened to me. I was selling a tranny and the guy sent me $9000 cashiers check. He told me to deposit it and send the rest back to him. I wrote back and told him to it was a scam and to go f*&^% himself. He wrote back using the religious game and since then I haven't heard from him.
To the OP don't do it your bank account will thank you.
