il preasure sensor/GAUGE help ??
OK, i am going to install an aftermarekt oil preasure gauge, my question, do i just un-screw the stock oil preasure sensor and screw in the new one for the gauge, or do i HAVE to T it off ??
What would happen if i leave the stock oil preasure sensor in the block
un-plugged/screwed? Would vtec still enagage?

Get a electrical oil pressure gauge. best method. take off the the sensor put a npt-an fitting in there and mount the oil pressure sensor on the firewall or on the subframe.
Then just run the wire from the sensor to the gauge along with the power and ground wires and you set to go!

Re: il preasure sensor/GAUGE help ??
how big is the sensor? is it from autometer? if so the wieght of the sensor will breek off with vibration.
I would highly suggest just running a stainless braided line from the block to the sensor!
Yes I have installed a oil pressure gauge

vtec will engage with oem sensor unplugged, its there just for oil warning light on dash (and set at stupid low level) so youll have light on dash if left unplugged
i recently fitted spa oil press/temp dual gauge and used method mentioned by rip94delsol, braided line from block to t piece on firewall which has oem sensor and aftermarket sensor both plugged in

1/8 - 28BSP to -3 an fitting. then run that to whatever threads are on the sensor.
take out the bulb behind the oil pressure signal that way it does not turn on.

I'm running an autometer sensor, the stock sensor as well as a feed line off that fitting which is screwed right into the block.

Re: il preasure sensor/GAUGE help ??
ok first off.... all you need to do is to T it off and that way the gauge will read and so will the ecu in the car........ vtec has an oil pressure sensor that alows vtec to be engauged when the correcty rpm and fuel delivery is met... but you need to run both sensors just to be on the safe side due to the ecm reads engine oil psi and it could not allow the vtec to engauge due to ecm reads no oil psi.... the vtec solenid just gets a signal from the ecm so if ecm reads no oil psi then vtec may not operate... honestly it not hard at all to do ..... hit me back on any questions.... good luck bro....

Yes its possible but why would you take the chance? just do it the safe way that way theres is no worries.
If your that worried run an oil distribution block with a fiiting for the stock oil pressure and the autometer oil pressure. If your thinking of boosting later on down the road you might just get 1 with three ports going out and 1 going in.

what block do you have? The oil pressure sensor is normally to the left of the oil filter.
The sensor above is normally oil filter is the knock sensor!

Honestly do it right the first time. Run the feed line to the oil distribution block and call it a day. That is the best way to do it!
