So, just for information, when using a timing light and you look at the 3 lines close to each other, which side of the line is advancing and which side is retarding?

So if my timing mark is in the small gap between the white line and 3 lines, is it advanced or retarded?

if hes between tdc and the 16* btdc his timing is advanced.

I'd say it's retarded from what the stock spec is (16 btdc?).

Also don't forget to be in the right idle RPM, at operating temp and with the service connector jumped to check it.
