ignition problem
hey, i'm new to this forum, but have been using it a while for references and tutorials. But now i have a problem that i don't know the answer to.
i have a 95 civic ex coupe with a 00 d16y8. I had some trouble turning my key a few weeks ago. it wouldn't click to that spot that shows oil light, check engine and a few others. i had to pretty much feel it out to that spot to start it. so i hooked up a push start button for a temporary fix. but yesterday i tried turning my ignition to the 2nd click so i could start it. but no dice. I have power, to lights, dash and audio. Can't turn my key to that certain spot for pwr windows and to start it. I'm wondering if it is my ignition switch or what? I'm in a real bind here, i can't get to work without my car.

Re: ignition problem
is that the only thing it could be? or the first this you would check?
i pulled apart the ignition and turned it with a screwdriver...it turned to that second spot but didn't turn on the accesories and prime the pump....i don't know if that helps any. but i'm going to check a junk yard for one. thanks!!

Re: ignition problem
my buddy was telling me about being able to wire a two way switch to the ignition/accessory, and then i saw a post on a site about it. How would i go about doing that? which wires would i have to connect? besides the switch for the ignition, it sounds exactly like my setup.
I did this to an old Honda Civic years ago when the ignition switch on the column fell apart. Mounted a pushbutton switch on the dash for the starter and another two way toggle switch for the ignition/accessory which I hid under the dash. Worked great. There can be more going through the switch than just ignition juice. So a wiring diagram would help.
