if check engine light is on, will vtec still work?

Default if check engine light is on, will vtec still work?

i have yet to wire my vtec, but my check engine light is on, if i wire it correctly will my vtec still work? what should i do?

first see what code it is throwing and it may or may not be runing it limp mode, what kind of motor and OBD?

It may, and hen again it may not...

Depends on what the code for the ECU is. Check it out, and get back with us. If it has anything to do with the oiling system, or VTEC solenoids or related parts then no. But if its only say a bad o2 sensor, then you shouldnt have any problems.

Find out what kind of codes it's throwing. If it's throwing a oil problem or VTEC problem - it won't work. You said it's ODB-1 - then go here. Find the code or codes that it is throwing and then report that. If it's throwing a VTEC solenoid light, you won't have VTEC, but if it's an O2 sensor, it will.


Find out what code(s) it's throwing.

from my experience it didnt work and my CEL was on and code I was was somthing with oil preassure.

Depends on what is setting off the CEL.
