if 2nd gear tops out at 30mph on my tranny, will 2nd gear still top out at 30mph on boost?

if 2nd gear tops out at 30mph on my tranny, will 2nd gear still top out at 30mph on boost?
i didn't really know any other way to ask the question
so i was just thinking today that the tranny would determine how fast i go in each gear.. i wanted to know if the speed at redline would be the same on the same engine, one w/ n/a one with boost
i'm pretty sure with boost you go faster in every gear .. but i don't understand how

Second gear is not limited by your tranny, it's limited by your motor. if it's 30mph@ 7000 rpm in your car, and thats redline, and i take your tranny out and put it in my car that redlines 2 9500 rpm i'll be going faster than 30...

Also if you are boosted and accelerating in 2nd gear and clutch in right before you redline, you'll continue accelerating past 30 mph. Basic laws of physics.

i understand that .. my question refers to comparing it to the same motor
so in my d16 n/a lets say it tops out at 7k at 30 mph
is a boosted d16 going to top out at 30mph at 7k still?

you're missing the point... it's not how much power you have, or how the power is put down... it's how high the engine will wind... for every x rpm you eccellerate y miles per hour... its that simple... higher rmp= higher speed

If the redline is the same then yes. Sometimes people modify their car so they can redline higher then ofcourse the speed will be higher.

alrite .. i just got confused .. b/c i saw somone post that they were going 100mph in 3rd gear on their d16y8 .. and i thought that was too much for 3rd gear .. and somone else said that they never even used 5th on their d16y8 .. i got confused
but listening to those ppls comments make it seem like they go faster in each gear
