Default idling problem

hey I have a 98 dx hatch with a jdm b16a2. Anytime I start the car, the idling will go keep reving in between 1500-2500 rpms at consistant rate. I checked for any vacum hose leaks, and there doesn't seem to be any. There are no check engine lights. And after about 10 minutes it will stop and idle at a consistant rate of 500 rpm. Anyone have any ideas on what maybe the cause. Thanks.

I assume if the metal mesh filter is dirty on it yes... or if maybe there are large debris in it that would cause it to peform poorly. Unbolt it during the day and take a flashlight and look at it and see if it's dirty. If it's not then I'd say put it back on and look else where... if it is, then go ahead and remove the coolant lines and then clean it with carb or brake cleaner.

I pulled mine today and it was very clean.. i guess thanks to my AEM intake... keeps the air charge clean.
